Domestic RHI details announced

Homeowners now know how much government support they can receive for domestic renewable heat projects, such as installing biomass boilers and solar thermal systems, thanks to the publication of tariff levels for the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

Minister for Climate Change, Greg Barker, and the Department for Energy & Climate Change (DECC) revealed final details of the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) on Friday July 12.

Following final consultation on the tariff levels and format last September, DECC has confirmed: Domestic RHI details announced

•   The domestic RHI will launch in April 2014 and run for seven years
•   Owners of ground source heat pumps will receive payments of 18.8p per kilowatt hour generated by their heating system
•   Owners of air source heat pumps will receive payments of 7.3p per kilowatt hour generated by their heating system.
